Who is Elohim to you and Who are you to Elohim?
The mystery of the fullness of Elohim and the revelation of God the Father, the God of Israel, is unfolding as the last days approach. And it makes total sense because Abba is the One Yeshua (Jesus) came to reveal. The Jews will ultimately realize that Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel, and the Gentiles will realize that the God of Israel is the God of all nations – the one true God.
A key verse from Matthew 28:19, using the Complete Jewish Bible version, explains the command of our Savior concerning Elohim (God). Yeshua said to immerse in all three “Presences” of Elohim – not just in Himself but also in the Name of Father God and in the Name of the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit):
“Therefore go and make people from all nations into talmidim (disciples), immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh….” Matthew 28:19
These words were spoken by Yeshua Himself – the commission He gave after His resurrection – toimmerse into the reality of Elohim. Note also that Yeshua has now expanded this commission – where He first said He came only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Matt. 15:24), here He is including both Israel and the nations. He even said right after this that He would be with us until the end of the age, alerting us to the fact that we are given this mandate for the last days.
As we immerse, as in a mikveh - submerging ourselves completely - into the fullness of Elohim - into the total consciousness of God in His multi-faceted, jewel-like, incomprehensible and self-existing Presence, we find ourselves practically carried away into another dimension altogether.
I think it is probably true for most of us who have given our hearts to Yeshua ha Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah), that in the beginning of our faith walk the first “Presence” of the Godhead that we encountered and "knew" was Yeshua. He is the Door, the One Who opened the way for us to enter into a whole new, clean and righteous existence, instilling in us the reality of eternal life. The “Person” of Yeshua has probably been the manifestation of Elohim that we know the best, the One we have known from the beginning of walking in faith.
And then the Ruach (the Spirit) has brought us into yet increasing awareness of life in the Spirit, of dancing the dance of Mahanaim, the dance of two camps, of heaven and earth, causing us to realize that even now we have eternal life as we finish the race here in our physical world. Many of us have experienced the power of the Ruach - miracles of God, doing exploits that we can hardly believe we've done - expressing gifts from God as prophets, teachers, healers, tongues-speakers, and supernatural proclaimers of truth bringing others to salvation.
But then there is Abba, the Father, Avi v' Elohim, God, the Father. He perhaps is not as well-known to us in terms of identifying with His Person - this is the God of Israel, the One who parted the Red Sea and took Israel through, the God of the wilderness journey and the giver of the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. He is the One Yeshua said He came to reveal. He said that no one comes to the Father except through Him. The purposes of Yeshua were to bring us to the Father and to present us without fault and blameless through His precious blood.
We are nearing the final revelation of the Father that Yeshua came to give us – to finally recognize the fullness of Elohim – Who God is in completeness - the Father, Son and the Spirit. It is happening now, as many in the Body of Messiah are walking in a deeper awareness of God's covenant plan for Eretz Yisrael and His Jewish people, the awareness of the covenant God made with Israel - with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - the covenant He chose to express Himself and to reveal Himself. Abba is being revealed in deeper and deeper ways to the hearts of those who seek Him.
This is a key to walking in your destiny and to obedience to the Sh’ma – to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength - understanding the persons of Elohim or maybe a better way to say it, understanding and immersing into the manifest "Presences" of Elohim - God the Father, Yeshua the Son, and the Ruach HaKodesh.
As I study the Word about Elohim, I am totally enthralled by Who He is and how He is both One and the same God and also so intricately manifest in unique expressions of Himself. It is amazing to see that from the very beginning the Oneness of all three Presences of God exist(Gen. 1:26) and this wonderful God is the fullness of Father, Son and Spirit (Isa. 9:6).
Just a few examples – both Abba and Yeshua are called the same Names. They are unique and distinctive from each other but at the same time, they are One and they share the same Spirit:
~First and Last - Isa. 48:12-17; Rev. 22:13; Isa. 44:6-7; Isa. 48:12; Rev. 1:8; Rev. 1:17-18
~The Savior - Isa. 43:11; Lk. 2:11; Acts 13:23; I Tim. 2:3
~I Am - Ex. 3:13-15; Jn. 8:53-59
Because of His exquisite “otherness” and the deeps of Who He is, the manifold wisdom of God is also expressed in infinite ways through those who know Him, through believers who make up His body (Eph. 3:10). There is no end to His glory or the expression of it. To take you into a place of revelation, answer these questions from your heart – don’t belabor it, but just answer out of your spirit –
Who is Elohim to you?
Describe your concept of Father God.
Describe your concept of Yeshua, the Son.
Describe your concept of the Ruach, the Spirit.
Look at your answers and you will see your understanding of your God.
Now, do this – describe yourself when you interact with His divine Presence –
Who are you to Elohim?
Who are you when you are before God, the Father?
Who are you when you are before Yeshua, the Son?
Who are you when you are before the Ruach, the Spirit?
Do you respond differently to each of His Presences? Do you know One of them better than the others?
I will share a few of my personal thoughts to the answers to my own questions – your answers may be different – but all of our answers will help us know Him better (Eph. 3:10-11).
Who Abba is to me -
My concept of Father God and who I am when I am with Him – He is awesome, the greatest Authority and will cast out my enemy before me. I am totally in submission to Him. I revere, honor and worship Him. He is the God of Israel – He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the covenant maker and the covenant keeper - Yahweh. He established the Land as Israel’s possession and instilled into the people that the attainment of that Land is the ultimate blessing. He is zealous over Zion, all-powerful, almighty, the Ancient of Days. And He promises to never leave us or forsake us.
Who I am in Abba –
I am a child before Him, but not childish. I am a child in the sense that I am a daughter of Zion who has received an inheritance given only to offspring. I am a Priest and one who ministers to Him and helps others minister before Him, too. I offer Him praise and sacrifices. When I am with Him, I am humbled and obedient and filled with awe, submissive to Him and to His Word.
Who Yeshua is to me -
My concept of Yeshua – He is the Savior, my Beloved, my Captive-freer, Rescuer, Redeemer, Deliverer, my Healer, precious beyond compare, fairest among 10,000 to my soul, my Life, my King, the Sweetest Song, the One my soul loves, the hope and joy of my life, my Portion and my very great Reward, the Lover of my soul and there is no one like Him. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords and the King of the Jews. He is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and the merciful, compassionate healer of every infirmity and affliction. He is total Acceptance and total Love. He is the perfect reflection of the fullness of Elohim, and the Restorer of all things.
Who I am in Yeshua -
When I am with Him, I am aware of being His bride, more than that, His wife, the one who is One with Him and who helps and serves the mission He is called to perform, doing the same things He does – going into the valleys and upon the mountains and rescuing the perishing and ultimately being part of the end-time battle, warring with Him as we come out of heaven together with the army of the Lord. With Him, I am a passionate worshiper and lover of purity and truth, His Sister, His Bride, the New Jerusalem. When I am with Him, I am filled with joy, freedom, dancing, singing – I feel loved and loving, exuberantly free-spirited, anticipating total unity and communion with Him in our Land, in Zion.
Who the Ruach is to me -
My concept of the Ruach – He is the Helper, the Comforter, my Counselor and the One Who reveals Yeshua. He is the One who empowers and enables and pours out anointing that enables me to do exploits for God. He reveals the “deeps” and the prophetic, the Truth, and teaches me about things to come. He never leaves me, is constantly with me and constantly speaking inside my inmost being. He is the voice in my ears, saying “this is the way, walk in it”.
Who I am in the Ruach -
With Him I am an Intercessor, a Warrior in the Spirit, emboldened with courage and faith that is supernatural and without which I am helpless. He prophesies through my yielded heart and creates an atmosphere of supernatural faith. With Him, I am part of strategizing and going forward to complete the work God has given me to do. He is constantly with me with groanings and prayers continually manifest inside me because of Him. When I am with Him, I am filled with faith and power and walk in prophetic ways.
What I am saying is this – when we press in and earnestly seek the fullness of Elohim, we are empowered to serve and worship and love Him in ways like we’ve never known before. The reason for this is because this kind of “knowing” is eternal life (Jn. 17:3). When you see Who He is to you and who you are to Him, you are being equipped for service and for eternity. You understand better the unique servant He has created you to be and how it is that He wants you to serve.
The fullness of Elohim is revealed in Messiah Yeshua:
“For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.” Col. 1:18-20
“For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ, andyou have been filled by Him, Who is the head over every ruler and authority.” Col. 2:9
The fullness of Elohim is revealed in the Body of Messiah – this is what He desires:
“….and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Eph. 3:19
“And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.” Eph. 1:22
The fullness of Elohim is revealed in One New Man:
As One New Man attains fullness and completion, both Jew and Gentile, we bring glory to the Father:
The fullness of the Jews: “But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullnessbring!” Rom. 11:12 NIV
The fullness of the Gentiles: “For brothers I want you to understand this truth which God formerly concealed but has now revealed, so that you won’t imagine you know more than you actually do. It is that stoniness, to a degree, has come upon Isra’el, until the Gentile world enters into itsfullness; and that it is in this way that all Isra’el will be saved….” Rom. 11:25 CJB
The fullness of One New Man – both Jew and Gentile: “…until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Eph. 4:13
Ask the questions and let your heart answer – you will receive revelation from the One who was and is and is to come – and you will love and worship Him more and walk deeply in His fullness.
