What You Do in Secret
For some it is a great comfort to know that the Lord sees you always, that He is omnipresent and nothing you do goes unnoticed by Him. To others, it could be a terrifying thought. It is true that you may be able to keep your private life private in terms of what others know or see or observe about you, but the Lord knows who you are, and He knows the motivations of your heart and what you do in secret.
During these days of bizarre global unrest and panic, where many are terrified of what is happening and of what is to come, the Lord sees those who are seeking His face with a depth of faith, worship and intimacy that they have not known before. You know who you are - He sees you – He sees what you are doing in secret.
In the secret place of your home, in the secret place of your room, wherever you are finding that secret place to be with Him, He sees you. He sees your choice to lift up your eyes to Him. He sees your faith. He sees your devotion to Him. He sees that He is your Hope and the One you trust, worship, and adore.
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, Who is unseen. Then your Father, Who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matt. 6:6
He sees what you are doing in secret – giving, praying, and fasting. (Matt. 6:4, 6, 18) He is pleased with you. He knows who you are.
These are days that the enemy seeks to use for destruction, but God intends them for good. These are days when it becomes ever more clear who belongs to the Light and who belongs to the darkness.
“And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.” Malachi 3:18
“Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy.” Rev. 22:11
We have choices to make. For the lukewarm believer, know that the Lord is calling you to realize your destiny and to choose a deeper life in Him.
Be conscious of the calling of the Lord, just as He called Israel. See your identity with Israel and the God of Israel. God’s people are set apart, consecrated, and called to His service, to minister to Him and to others and to bring glory to His Name among the nations. Be prepared and ready for the days of revival that will come before His re-appearing. Purify your heart with this Hope that is sure.
“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” I John 3:1-4
Rejoice that you are called to be children of God and to know that this is who you are! Seek Him in the secret place of His chambers. Ask Him to take you there!
“Take me away with You – let us hurry! Let the King bring me into His chambers. We rejoice and delight in You; we will praise your love more than wine.” Song of Songs 1:4
