Biblical Zionism

Because the name of our ministry is Highway to Zion Ministries, and the word "Zion" has "political charge" to it in some circles, we want to clarify a few issues! First of all, we are not a political entity. We are people after God's heart, rejoicing in His promise of restoration, not only of Israel, but of all things. And, yes, we are Biblical Zionists, in the purest sense of the phrase, as you will see as you read this.

When we say "Highway to Zion", we mean several wonderful things! First of all, Zion can mean: Israel, Jerusalem, the City of the Great King, the "Holy Land", the Promised Land, and it can also be figurative for our eternal home with Yeshua and the New Jerusalem.

One meaning for the phrase "highway to Zion" is from Psalm 84:5 where the Scripture talks about making the pilgrimage to Jerusalem to celebrate the feasts of the Lord. It is a blessing to be a believer in the one true God and to be on our way to celebrate His Feasts, to make a physical pilgrimage to Jerusalem in accordance with the Word (Dt. 16) to celebrate His Feasts, on His timeline.

Another meaning for the phrase, highway to Zion, is that we are on the highway of holiness (Isa. 35) and to the promise of God to restore all things, to eternity, to our final destiny, seeing Yeshua our Messiah face to face, to eternal and everlasting joy. The redeemed of the Lord shall return to Zion!

It also means that we are on the course that God has set for us individually, the path, the race that He has marked out for us (Heb. 12). We are headed towards fulfillment of our personal spiritual destiny. We are on the highway that He has put before us and it is our aim to continue on it until the course is completed.

The purpose of Highway to Zion Ministries is foremost to call believers into a deeper worship and service unto the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We do this in every aspect of our ministry, whether it be in classes, Assemblies, Believers' Gatherings, outreach or immersion tours to Israel.

Secondly, we teach classes and host events where the truth about the Word of the Lord concerning these prophetic days and in particular, about Israel and the Jewish people and our Jewish Messiah, is made clear, again with the goal being to impart a deeper, progressive and moreintimate worship and love for our God(Dt. 6:4-5).

Thirdly, we believe it is our calling as Gentiles (the nations) to take our standon the Word of the Lord for Zion's sake and to pray for the restoration and salvation of the Jewish people (Isa. 62). We also support Jewish believers financially and in missions outreach in the land of Israel.

Finally, we facilitate the revelation of prophecy being fulfilled in our day and the impact and reality of walking in personal spiritual destiny. We do this as part of all of our ministry goals but particularly as we bring people to the land of Israel for immersion into this land chosen by God to reveal Himself in and through.

At times we've had to deal with objections from others, even people that you would expect would stand with us on the Word about these days and about Israel, God's choice as the foremost of the nations (Jer. 31),

To clarify the words "Christian Zionism" as it applies to our ministry is to say that our ministry is not a political institution with a political agenda. Christian or Bibilical Zionism in its simplest definition is believers in Yeshua (Jesus) who believe, understand and proclaim the Scripture regarding God's covenant with Israel, which is that the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people and that God has chosen Israel as the banner for the nations. Israel is the nation He chose for the revelation of the entire redemption story of Messiah Yeshua. Without an understanding of Israel, we have a very incomplete faith (see Romans 9-11).

Our beliefs are definitely in a real, literal interpretation of the Scripture for the glory of God. We do believe the Word, that the Lord has given the land of Israel to the Jewish people. We do believe that the Word teaches that His wrath is going to be unleashed against those who have divided up His land and who have come against His people.

We do not have a political agenda. We have a Biblical mandate to be watchmen on the walls and for Zion's sake not to be silent (Isa. 62). We do believe that modern day Israel and the return of the Jewish people from all over the world to their homeland is a tremendously large part of the fulfillment of prophecy - an awesome hope and encouragement that He is very near - a reason to shout "Hallelujah!".

We believe the first and the second greatest commandments! We love God and we love others, whether they are Jew or Gentile (Gentile means everyone who is not Jewish, which includes all nations and people). We believe the Bible is about Israel and the nations and Messiah's reconciliation and restoration of all things. It is about Jew and Gentile being reconciled into one new man. It is about the mystery of God (Eph. 2 and 3), and what a glory it will be to see the reconciliation of one of the most visible conflicts in the world today which is between Jew and Arab. The Lord reigns.

Our hearts are for God and to bring Him glory, to please Him by believing and proclaiming His Word as the Truth.

Praising Him for setting our feet on the highway to Zion!

Love in Yeshua ha Mashiach,

Cathy
